I personally think that from the current lot of characters and considering the storyline, the only female that has a chance of winning the tournament is Asuka. Will that happen? Most unlikely, but let me point out some things:
1. Nina is revered as the strongest female character (at least among tekken fans), but she will never win the tournament. Don't take this as prejudice, but this is a Japanese video game and probably the typical anime/manga stereotypes hold for its story. The sexy leathal blond mature female character that plays a secondary/independent role is not important enough to win the tournament. The teenage cute/tomboyish Japanese school girl type>>>>>> the mature sexy lady type in anime/manga. Japanese teenagers are the strongest thing in the universe in anime/manga!

2. Asuka has the Kazama bloodline that nullifies the powers of the devil gene. None of the other females has anything that even comes close to that. Whether Asuka could defeat a base Mishima or not is irrelevant. She nullifies their strongest weapon. Not even Nina stands a chance against a Mishima with his devil powers unleashed.

3. She has the closest thing of a tie to the Mishimas. None of the others is important/close enough to win the tournament.

4. Sure her story is crap right now with her stupid lili rivalry, but this doesn't mean that namco cannot give her a more serious relevant story in the future tekken. For all we know, she could be the central character in the next tekken (lol who am I kidding?! It'll be Larsy-boy).

Realistically, Nina should have the best chance of being the first female iron fist champion, and based on her profession and extensive experience, she should be able to slaughter any of the females without even trying. However, she's not a Japanese teenage girl with a special bloodline (or GIGANTIC hands! [im_happy} )

She clearly have beaten Lili. She also beat Eddy in the comic storyline, which means Christie is no match for her. As it's aptly pointed out here that Nina (rules out Julia very easily then) is not a first choice due to stated reason, Asuka definitely deserves to win. But I think Xiaoyu has a better chance (not being biased, as you may figure from my Username..) of being a winner, due to similar reasons. She is also shown to have a speculative remote potential to defeat even Devil Jin during the end of the Tekken BV movie... oh well, none of this is ever gonna happen anyway [facepalm]

lol this got bumped up?

To be honest looking back, the story she had seemed interesting, I liked the idea of wanting to capture Jin Kazama, what happened after lol was were it turned into a mess. Yes Asuks deserves better than Lili, but Japanese money says otherwise :p

Her story turned into a school-girl fight (over spilled rice). Look at her T5 ending; she healed Jin! Just like Jun's TTT ending. I still hope that, if Jun returns to Tekken 7, she gets an important role there. Imagine: Jun and Asuka teaming up to end the Devil Gene within Jin. It will finally end this Devil mess :P

Thinking at the bright side...Asuka's story around Jin can take off with an odd alliance with Lili, kinda like the recent online comic story with the bits of Nina being butt-hurt cut out. Now she also have to deal with Raven (and Lars) to get to Jin, might just make her story a little more serious. Just saying..

I don't think Asuka will have a Jin related story anymore, and to be honest, I'd say most Asuka fans prefer her being comedic. Asuka and Lili's partnership is pretty popular in Japan too, and now with the possibility of Jun being, perhaps Jun will carry on the "serious Kazama" story. I was a big fan of Asuka at the beginning, but I guess the whole Lili x Asuka thing just made me disinterested in the character. I guess she came during the time, when the Tekken storyline was no longer dark gritty, perhaps if she debuted in T4 she would have been a lot more interesting, at least for me

I think she will; if Jun returns, she'd be her perfect partner to finish this "Devil Gene" mess. Asuka doesn't care about Lili actually; she just sees her as an annoying rich girl who randomly appears and wants to defeat her.

Yeah, that's kind of annoying. Hope they turn Lili into a serious character too.

Tekken 4 Miharu = Tekken 5 Asuka

Miharu was like an Asuka prototype.

@Luks' edit...

Wha-.... Really dude? I'm not the first to do it, and plus, that's not tricking the censor, tricking it would go like this: "Look at me! I'm a stupid loser that ********* **** *** ** ***** * *****8**** 8888888888888" That's how it goes, I just said *****, I wasn't the first to write it like that here... But I'm the first to get edited for it apparently... :/
