Can I ask something and I don't want to sound stereotypical or if I am, then I apologize, it's something which RA actually already touched upon. I noticed that there does seem to be a lot of national pride, in America, now I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes I get the impression that some of the things are well...seem way over the top.

For instances in some of the American entertainment such as WWE/WWF, we've had the "foreign bad guy" who we hate for being "anti american". Now sure a lot of it peaked during the 80's but it still went on to like the mid 2000, with the fans shouting: "USA, USA" whenever they are on. I hate to sound rude, but here in the UK if there was a wrestling system which promoted such entertainment they would be laughed at.

Now I'm not taking a dig at American culture or anything, I'm just curious if anything, does it really mean the world to some of you for being American? Is this just some stereotype that ignorant Europeans have built up? As I seen from the comments above already with two users claiming to be "good to be American", but again this mentality of national pride is so rare in the UK the saying is here is hardly ever heard. If anything here in the UK they make fun of being British in shows such as Little Britain.

So again it's just me asking out of curiosity, any Americans can give us there opinions or from what they have seen from there experience living in America?

thanks

They just get really excited. I think Americans are especially likely to say or do something stupid/over the top when they get excited. Most people will give a simple answer if asked if they're proud to be an American: "Yes."

And don't worry about stereotyping Americans; we're the worst stereotypers out there. Anyone Russian is a communist. All Asians look the same and are super smart. Brits like tea and crumpets. Germans do nothing but listen to polka and drink beer. Mexicans are undocumented. Indians are stealing American jobs through outsourcing. And anyone from the Middle East is a terrorist.

Bravo Puppy, bravo. And the French only make cheese, but bravo.

You've included my comment within your message also, are you referring to me as well? I'm pretty sure you are developing on what Puppy had said, but in the future, it is better to remove any unwanted text for others to see, that way it avoids any confusion.

Thanks, I appreciate your kindness.[clap] So yeah, I'm still exploring the whole Tekken nation thing since I'm still new to it. So I might make a couple of mistakes. But hey! I alwayz learn from them.[mallet]

I'm american too, but from South America. North americans seems to forget about South America; for example, when I was in FL, I saw some Verizon advertisment: they claimed to have America's largest 4G network, but in South America Verizon doesn't exist lol.

America = South America + Central America + North America [shrug]

Lol America in the general sense does not include South America, Central America, Canada or Mexico......its the US of A.

We don't forget...we just don't consider those countries as America.

And you should, as we're located in South America [lol]
America is the name of the continent, so if you're talking about America as a continent, that includes South America, Central America, Canada and Mexico too lol.

But you fail to realize that America is no longer a continent. That's why there is South and North America.

Here in school they've teached me that America is still one continent, conformed by South America, North America, Central America, Canada and Mexico. Weird lol.
Althought there are various models, such as 5 continents model, 6 continents model and such. On the five one, America is one continent, but it seems it's deprecated now.

Yes, but the rest of the world doesn't belong to a continent that has the word "America" on it lol. Saying wordwide that America=USA it's annoying for the rest of the people that lives on the other "Americas", as we are still americans.

I'm not sure about Mexico tho, but in spanish (language), when you talk about "America", you are reffering to the whole continent. In english, that's not the case; when you say America, you are talking about the USA.

The difference lies in the language.
