It isn't as simple as that Anna, this convert may receive grief for his choice by total strangers, but once they are out of sight they become exactly that, strangers, people who have no significance in your life and most likely never will. But I once read a story about an American women who tried to convert some young Muslims during her university years, she failed, and instead converted to Islam after studying the religion further in order to find faults with the system. After announcing to her family that she'd converted, they wanted to kill her, father especially who said "I would rather kill now than have her endure this living hell" but even they turned to Islam. Grief is nothing when given with such weak reason, but when your family, the people you love are forced into that situation, then it becomes a whole different ball game. I haven't seen many cases like this, the worst people get are a few insults and some broken confidence, but Allah heals those with time and patience ;)
We were together in the night, and then she left me. At first, I had a painting of her in wood, then I had a relief of her in marble, and then, I had a picture of her... in my mind. But now, I no longer have even that.

One shouldn't care about what others think, as long as you have Allah on your side, then there is nothing to be worried about.

Now with that said has anyone watched the islamic movie, the resalah? (the mess [facepalm] age) the arabic version is actually pretty good for it;s time, I recommend you fine a copy with english subtitles. The english dub version is real poor I'm afraid

Yes I do keep a beard, but I only started growing one during 2009-2010

Raseliah actually does have some inaccurate scenes in it, however it does give a brief story about how Islam got established in Mecca. But yea reading books is always best if you want to go for solid accurate information

I wouldn't say everything within books is correct, keep in mind that not all an author writes is the truth. But unlike films, they are not blown out of proportion for the sake of the user's pleasurable viewing experience.

I woudln't say the film over exaggerated , because I seen it, however I'd say it's inaccurate due to the sheer size of the actual story. They cut some things out and associated parts to over people, the film it self is like 3 hours long XD, but it would have been like 10 hours long if they had out everything in it.

BTW they're making a remake of it anyway, apparently Qatar has payed the makers of The Matrix and Lord of The Rings, to make a really good western version. So it'll be interesting to see what happens, also Sheikh Qaradawi will watch over it to make sure it is accurate ;)

Been reading the Wikipedia article have? Remakes aren't always good news, look at the sheer amount by Hollywood of Asian cinema. They've got their hands on everything, but usually taint an already perfect entity with their lackluster productions.

...
did I just hear "an alcohol woman" at the beginning?
EDIT: so that's "in El Cajon" not "an alcohol". At first I thought because she's an alcohol woman, her family beat her to death [facepalm]

my heart goes to her daughter.. and maybe media should not interviewed her. :(
and that's why I always see every Muslim especially women wearing hijab living in a country where Islam being minority as amazing person, that's not easy like here I guess. [shrug]

One stuff like this happen though, one should not "retaliate in an emotional manor", as in taking out your frustration on someone who had nothing to do with it, which is what happens a lot of the times.

Here is quote from the quraan telling you are not forbid to be nice to those who don't try to harm you and innocent. I do believe that integration in communities is important, otherwise people will just learn from muslims via the media, and we don't want that now do we...

surah 60 v 8 wrote:"Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly."

Exactly!
But some certain individuals tend not to quote that when they're issuing fatwas or giving speeches in mosques. They only like to highlight their favorite part of the Qu'ran and apply it in the wrong context. Which is so wrong [facepalm]

"
Here is a video that disgusted me what really happens inside some mosques.

lol under cover mosque, so much bull, BBC promoting propaganda to create tensions and fear.

Bilal Philips made a response to it and he even said, why is it even called under cover? You can just go get his CD's for free out in the open.

But see here is the thing I tell Muslims and this is reality unfortunately, don't be an idiot and expect to be treated fairly. What I mean here is that some Muslims think, well other people behave stupid, so it doesn't matter if I do too. Unfortunately that is not the case, because we are the media's favorite test subject and thus you have to be more careful with what you do, not that you should be acting like an idiot in the first place. But say for example on the Jeremy Kyle show, it consists of chavs doing all sorts of things, it had many Caucasian beating up their wife's and girl friends etc, but as soon as a colored person with a pakistani name (who didn't even call himself a muslim) and may I just add has his "girl friend pregnant", which tells you how religious his is, does it all of a sudden it was well that's because it's his religion etc.

This is what I'm tell you people now, because with the media having so much attention on the Muslims and creating fear, people won't look at a muslim doing bad, thinking "Ahmad that guy is being an idiot", it would be "Ahmad that muslim is an idiot because he is a muslim." Also most people don't know about the basics of Islam, it's not a religion which relies on belief only, so whenever someone was to behave idiotically and is either colored or has a muslim like name, people will see them do bad and see them as representing Islam this way.

Whether you like it or not, all of you are representing Islam, and so when you start goofing off, then people will just think, this is how muslims behave.
