Xykon The Lich wrote:How does, or how can any of the religions explain, in this case I guess Islam, this?
We can't be sure about what happened in the year 50 AD, right?
How can we then be sure what happened 3000 years BC? How can we exactly know what the, for example, Egyptians believed in? We of course have some historical "facts" and such, but a lot more is shrouded in mystery.
How can we simply dismiss their religion(s)? They too had a main religion, they had sects and cults and offshoot religions, they had their prophets and god(s).

That is another thing I generally dislike about religion (having in mind how much I know; please, prove me wrong). What makes, for example, our Christian religion, which has existed for, let's say, 2000 years better than the general Egyptian religion which also existed for 2000+ years. Also, it existed before the Christian religion (and Judaism and Islam and so on).
True, it changed throughout the years, but haven't all religions changed at least a bit during their existence?

Do you have any opinions/knowledge about this, regarding Islam and religions in general?

Which one is better depend of people's point of view I think. I've studied Hinduism and a little bit Buddhism in Indonesia. But I also learned a little bit history of those religion in India. Basically, Hinduism like another religion had a lot changes. First its start with Vedic, which believe in a lot of Deities and they worship deity depend what they need. Ex: if someone had plan to sail, then he worship Varuna (water/sea/ocean) for not making any harmful wave or something. Then he also asked for help to Vayu (wind). But then, changes happen. People starting to make rebellion because Brahmana or someone like priest had too much authority. Then finally born what people called Hinduism now which worship three main Deities: Vishnu, Siva, and Brahma. And there're also a lot sect. Some part in India worship Vishnu, rest worship Siva, a few people worship Ganesha (son of Siva), etc. In Indonesia, based on old inscription in 5th century people worship Vishnu then in 9th until 15th mostly people worship Siva. Like Christian and Islam, there're some similarities between Vedic and Hinduism, the deities in Vedic also used it too in Hinduism. For ex: in Mahabharata story, you will find name of Vedic deities but still Vishnu is the one who got a highest position. In Indonesia itself, there're few people believe Hinduism is Monotheist because they think, although there're three main Deities but basically its consist one highest power. When its guarding then it's called Vishnu, if destroying then it's called Siva.

Before I forget, you can edit or delete my post if you think it will offend someone. So my point is:
I've studied those things and I'm still believe Islam is the best religion for me because that's my point of view after I studied it and maybe because I was born and raised in Muslim family so I studied it with my Muslim glasses. But not from people who believe Hinduism is the best or Buddhism. If you studied Buddhism, the philosophy will make you think its the most peaceful religion but then for me there're so many things that not make sense. And I remembered the time I interviewed Hindu priest in Bali. I asked how could you knew the shape of your God and believe something which formed based on human thought, and he asked me back how could you believe something that you didn't know what it looks like. So its basically people choices to see which one is better. :D

@Deebo
Can you help me some reference to learned the prophet names is English, or common names not the names in Quraan? Because the only names that I knew are Moses = Musa a.s and then Abraham = Ibrahim a.s and last Jesus = Isa a.s. Thanks :D

Yes, I have seen plenty of conversion stories through YouTube.
We were together in the night, and then she left me. At first, I had a painting of her in wood, then I had a relief of her in marble, and then, I had a picture of her... in my mind. But now, I no longer have even that.

Just a question.
In my country if anyone converts from Islam to another religion he or she will be sentenced to death. Is there a similar rule in other countries?

I hate to sound rude, but Iran doesn't run by an Islamic system, even if the government claims so. This is not me taking a dig at your country, to be quite frank, there is no country in the world ATM which runs by a proper islamic ruling. Let's just leave it at that

I'd be very worried if they execute based on religion in Xiaoyu Land :p But I doubt there are other countries with this ruling.

Thanks for answering. You're answer is totally logical and it doesn't sound rude at all.

Nothing to be uncomfortable about, many women find Muslims in the niqab attractive and beautiful. Especially Western ones.

Seen it previously, there were several parts of it on YouTube. One man talks about how his son served in Afghanistan. Others show their disgust.

My Imam recently spoke about the Dajjal after Sunday's Zuhr, he said the following words: And Isa will confront the Dajjal like the Sun melts a cube of ice into water, so will the Dajjal turn into water after Isa's action.

Is it the "Islamic Thread" after all Deebo, we could have had one that is open to all views, but it might have become a little hectic in there.

TN allows people to create threads for other religions, we once had a Buddhist thread but it wasn't used [shrug]

I'm aware it's the Islamic thread and so I agree with you, but I just added that in as a precaution for those who might get offended

edit BTW you guys seen this, it talks about Australian converts
