The ever so popular DMC series has decided to get reimaged... despite only being around for two generations of consoles...

And quite frankly, the new image SUCKS!
And my internet is being a tard so i'll let some other ragin fanboy have the joy of leading the hate wagon.

I concur with the sentiment that the new image is nothing shy of downright horrible. I like Dante a lot even though I never got into the game enough to play the series regularly but as a character, he's awesome. This reboot seems to have failure written all over it.

Let us be honest the franchise was nothing special from other action games. The first Devil May Cry was a good entry and for the second I have heard it was very bad indeed. The third was fair and the 4th could have been improved a little. The whole series has sold 10 million copies worldwide and that is not something to be proud of if you have released 4 games which have had 2 to 3 years development time. This reboot is going to good and it looks more brutal which is something Devil May Cry is good at.

QFT, Dante's younger image seems to have a character unlike the older, simply cause he looks generic.

I'm looking forward to this one.

Why must the majority of gamers these days be unpleaseable jackpipes that can't handle change? Saw it with MGS4, saw it with T6, saw it with Sonic Unleashed and Sonic 4, and now this.

A change of gameplay isn't reason enough to start a reboot... The story was unfinished and Nero could have done with some explaining...

Gameplay change is expected from game to game, and the devil system in DMC2 was kinda one of the things i hated about it...
And the fighting isn't gonna change that much imo to warrant a reboot... All gameplay changes (however different they are) could be done with a proper sequel...

Then why do they even bother with following, much less buying, new games? Why don't they just stick to Tekken 1 or DMC1 instead of even giving a shit about new things?

As for me, aside from the disgusting-as-fuck smoking habit they've given "Dante" (there's no guarantee it's even Dante. I read an interesting theory on kyon.pl that could actually be pretty plausible), I'm actually interested in this series again, which after how bad DMC2 was, was something I didn't see happening.

Old Snake Did you guys see in what good shape he still was ? And he always smoked, MGS4 was awesome, I loved it.

Topic:

I think the re-design is awful. Black hair is okay. But this Dante looks plain awful, besides we already had the young Dante in DMC3 and I disliked the whole setting of the new trailer. It reminded me of bad horror movies at the parts where he is tied up w chains.

I welcome changes, but no unneeded ones- NT will screw DMC up and after that we can bury the franchise- hell we can bury it already. DMC died for me with DMC4... Though it was enjoyable but I hated the stage recycling. It was like you run with Nero the stages up and with Dante back down, and that bored me.

@Saiya: I'd agree with you if this revamp wasn't totally unnecessary and awfully done, but I won't judge it yet, I want to see more first. But for now I am totally against it.

The theory in which Dante isn't the Dante- well I also think that this guy might not be our Dante after all.

Smoking is something people do, why are you surpised? About him being angry, did you not see him chained up? -.-

Unlike the older him, he doesn't seem to be boring so I look forward to this game, obviously they could have designed him better, but as far as cosmetics are I can deal with just so I can play.

Some say it is another dimension but I don't see why people are complaining. It is not like they made Dante into a gay person so I think people should welcome it a little. Ninja Theory will do good with this because if the critics give it a good score then the fans are going to purchase it so they have to win them over.

I mean the picture portrays him as a character with cuts and bruises all over his body unlike the old games where he never had a scratch on his face when he fought against a horde of demons.
