SPAMMING

–Please make your posts worthwhile. Obviously "worth" is subjective, but nonsense sentences and just posting smileys (for example), or anything that does not move the subject forward is constituted as spam.

We have a Random Thread for spamming and posting whatever you like in; please make use of it.

This also includes going off-topic. It is fine to go off-topic now and again, but constantly going off-topic for no reason is not acceptable.


POST LIMIT

-Each thread is only permitted to reach 1000 posts. When it gets to that point, or somewhere within its 50th page, a mod will lock the thread and create a new one for the subject. If you see a thread that's over 1000 posts, please don't post in it saying so, and instead report the last post in it. If you do post in a thread that's over 1000 posts, it's not a big deal; just try not to make a habit of it.


FLAMING

–Do not directly insult another TN member. This includes people making errors as far as the rules are concerned. If you see a rule-break, report it (using the button with the ! In the triangle). If you quote something that is against the rules, you will also be at fault and may receive the same punishment as the original offender. Be mindful.


RACISM

-Racism in any form will not be tolerated, whether directly towards another member of TN, or generally expressed. This includes negative remarks about other cultures, and cultural ignorance in general. Google is there for a reason, people; educate yourselves.


PROFANITY

–Profanity is not censored, but please be mindful of what you are posting. This is a teen+ site, be responsible with your words. If it becomes a problem, profanity will become censored. There is a difference between saying something like, "Harada is the shit, man!" and "You're a piece of shit."


IMAGES

-Basically, nudity and pornographic pictures are not allowed. That's about it. If you are in doubt about an image, PM the Head Moderator or one of the Global Moderators and they will let you know. This also applies to fanart.

CREDIT

–Make sure that if you are posting original content that does not belong to you (imagery, music, film, written work etc.) you credit the original creator of the work. If you are not aware of the original creator (for example: If you post an image found on Google images) then that's fine, but bear in mind that it will be you who is held responsible if there are any repercussions.


ART THEFT

-Claiming other peoples' work as your own is a serious offence, and will likely result in a ban. It isn't something you can do accidentally, and anyone that's ever created anything they were pleased with will know how much it can hurt to see someone else claim it as their own. Like above, this goes for all forms of art, such as film, music, drawings, paintings, digital artwork, written work, etc.


ILLEGAL MATERIAL

–Linking to illegal material is forbidden, as is describing how to go about obtaining illegal material as well as general discussion about it. This includes pirated software, emulators, torrents etc.


ALTS & CIRCUMVENTING

-Creating more than one account is not permitted. If you are found using an account to circumvent a ban, the original ban will be extended, and may even become permanent.


ACCOUNT-SHARING

-Sharing your TN account with someone is not permitted; everyone must have their own account. Similarly, it is against the rules to give your password out to others. Everything done under your account is your responsibility.


PERSONAL INFORMATION

-Giving out personal information (including images) of another member, without their permission, is grounds for an immediate ban.


EDITING POSTS

-Do not edit a post that a moderator has edited. This should go without saying. If you wish to debate the edit, then please PM the moderator.


BANS

-Failing to abide by Tekken Nation's Terms of Service will result in a temporary ban in most cases (24 hours for small offences, though the duration may be longer if the individual Moderator deems fit).

Ignorance is not an excuse for rule-breaking. The rules are accessible to everyone and there is no good reason as to why anyone should not have read them.

OLD THREADS

Bumping old threads is fine unless the post you are using to bump the thread can be placed in an already active or existing thread. If you do bump up threads which are similar to the ones already out there, your actions would be considered as spamming, and you may get suspended if you continue to do this. If you are in doubt, please contact one of our moderators before you post in that old thread.

AVATARS / SIGNATURES

Signatures have a 230 character limit. Signatures must adhere to all other rules, including profanity, inappropriate imagery and illegal material. Addition to the already existing image rules, Alcohol and drugs is also forbidden. Multiple images are only permitted if they are side by side, multiple images above one another take up too much space and are not permitted. The maximum size for a sig image is 600 pixels in width, 200 pixels in height. Embedded videos are not permitted in signatures, but you may use the YouMP3 code to post audio in your signature. Users may only have one .gif type file between their signature and avatar. So if they have a .gif in their signature, they may not have one in their avatar, and vice versa.


Game Identification

You must put the name of the Tekken game in any of the new threads with the strategy section. Otherwise it gets messy and confusing, a simple "Tag 2 Jin Kazama Combo's thread" or "T6 Jin Frame Data Discussion" would do.
