Report a Moderator

Postby Cosmic_Castaway » Thu Apr 07, 2011 10:48 pm

Please use this thread to report any moderators that you feel are: Abusing their role; breaking TOS; generally behaving questionably. Of course, you can still use the report feature, but - like with the Feedback thread - you have the option to be anonymous here, by signing out and posting as a guest.

Please make sure you are posting evidence along with your accusations. If you are not, they shall be ignored.

Bear in mind, also, that this is starting from now, so please don't bring up anything from the past.

Whenever someone is modded from now on, it will be on a trial-basis at first. Their name will be in purple to make this clear to everyone. Please pay extra attention to them, and report anything that seems questionable.

I will post updates whenever a new mod starts their trial.

It should go without saying that you shouldn't misuse this thread. Anyone that does so will receive a warning, and potentially a temp-ban.

Thank you in advance for your input and contribution.

It seems like White Angel has me on his ignore list which seems a bit unprofessional.
I can break the rules as much as I want around him because he wont see my posts anyway.

If he hasn't actually put me on ignore then I'm sorry for this post but I just thought it was worth pointing out.

I have a suggestion for White Angel, please keep in mind this ain't no flame, this is just a serious suggestion.

If you wanna be a good well rounded mod, you need to slow down for a bit. By this I mean stop taking things so personally against Nina or any of your other number one ladies, no one's trying to hurt them (unless this is needless flaming!) by saying that they just prefer some other character. I'm not saying don't disagree or put forward your opinion, but you seriously get all up in arms about this shit. They are not attacking how you view something, yet you tend to do that sometimes, even when they have specified that it's their opinion only, not everybody's. Other members who value [insert character] just as much as you (in regards to your love for Nina) can still see the negative side, maybe you should consider this too? It's not a crime to see this side and its not stumping out your love for Nina in the slightest.

To add to this, you seriously need to realize that everything doesn't always pertain to the hardcore, technical gameplay side of Tekken. If someone prefers Anna to Nina, there's no reason to pull out that (for example, not saying you've done this) "Anna sucks, her wall carry is absolute trash and her B! moves leave a lot to be desired compared to Nina's 1+4, Nina's 1+4 [more gameplay talk]". Hardcore's YOUR reality of Tekken, that's fine, but as a mod (AS A MOD), you need to keep in your MIND and VERY CLOSE to your HEART that at the moment, this is a CASUAL Tekken forum, a lot of these people won't know what the heck you're on about, you know?

There are other hardcore users here who can cater for this -- again, as a user, that idea of hardcore being your reality of Tekken is fine, but as a moderator, you really gotta keep that in mind -- that this is a casual place, and most people here (for now!) are here to talk about Tekken in an aesthetic (how they see the designs/characters), storyline light. Try to be balanced in both, maybe in your not-aggressive responses, maybe be like "It's cool that you prefer Anna to Nina; as for me, well, in the technical gaming side, Nina's got a better wall carry than Anna, and in a not-technical sense, I much prefer Nina's silent, cold-hearted assassin personality to what Anna portrays".

I hope you can take this into account, this is really all I've to say to you, and I sincerely mean it in a constructive way, I'm not trying to flame you at all. You would be an excellent moderator if you could just keep these two things in mind.

Above post pretty much summed up my reason for writing here.

I don't like the way White Angel is all 'I LOVE MAH GURLZZ NINA4LYFE', but then one person says otherwise, it's all 'HER U/F+720SPIN PWNNNSSSSS YOUR CHARACTER HHAAARRRDDD'. Ok, so I shot that out of context a little bit, but you can tell why.

And stop all this 'Me, myself and I' sh*t. You never add to a conversation, I haven't really seen you do anything that's worthy to become a mod at the end of your trial, and you always talk about yourself relating to the actual thread title.

Make the right decision come April 30th, guys.

Peace.

I'll not give evidence for Enzo's case because that's his own complaint, but anyway:

#1: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7158&start=40#p461963

Here Speed King stated that for him (SPECIFICALLY, he stated 'for him') Jun was Queen of Tekken. White Angel immediately blew it off and challenged it, and immediately pulled it to gameplay, including a video. Speed King is not of the same technical knowledge as White Angel, and furthermore, Speed King did not say "THIS IS EVERYBODY'S OPINION", he said its just his. WA's reaction imho wasn't exactly the best for a mod. Other users pulled him up on it.

This is the only time he has done it as a moderator, which is the reason why I included it -- but if I dug up more posts from his time as a user, a lot of them speak the same. I'm just saying that for a mod, stuff like that's not exactly the best thing to do. It also becomes very frustrating.

Apologies for beating a dead horse, but I just found another (for above):

#2: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7158&start=40#p462263

Same thread, same attitude, same everything. The user he quoted even specified directly below him that, again, the character is queen for him.

I have some concerns with Jurn.

telling a user to 'shut up' and implying that some are homosexual?

i honestly don't believe this is how a mod should behave, even if he's joking...

Regarding Aozame -

She apparently tends to forget that she's a mod herself, and also doesn't do her job properly.

viewtopic.php?f=166&t=6630#p472025 this thread was in the Tekken general, Aozame left it in the Christie forum without merging with the Defence Against Christie thread that was already there. (its merged now though)

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7217&p=481686#p481686 Might be taken with a pinch of salt, but should a mod go off topic like this unless necessary?

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7324&start=400#p484685 A more recent one. She not only let the topic derail for a whole page, but instead of stopping it, was propagating it, and had to be pulled up by Tofma.

These are just what I remember right now. She should step up and take that mod position srsly.

Ok thank you for raising your concerns but I feel as if I need to point out one thing, Aozame 100% does take her job seriously. She's constantly reporting back to the mod forum, and if you were to check the mod log, she's really active in the sense of moderation. There is no doubt in mind regarding Aozame's determination and commitment as mod.

The hurt heal post was fine as I stated banter and support for a game character discussion is ok, and it has been this way since we began our first one. Now regarding the other two claims I'll tell you this; whenever she does anything "wrong" it is a mistake rather than intent.you have to remember that she's still fairly inexperienced, she's bound to do some mistakes here and there. I recommend that if you feel Aozame has missed out something, and you want to get better, then contact her through pm regarding the mistake she missed out. For example; "hey aozame did you know that there already is a thread like this? can you please combine them?" OR "Hey aozame I don't think you have noticed but that thread is getting really of topic, can you please have a word with them?". Everyone has to start from somewhere, I believe within the time Aozame can be one of the best mods we've ever had on this forum.

Also please remember there are so many posts on this forum, you reporting to moderators will not only help them improve, but it will also help keep the place cleaner for all.

Thanks

I hope this is the right place to discuss about a question. A few days ago i opened a thread in general gaming and it was locked. Well, i asked the reason to Tofma, the author of locking, and the answer was: "Because 1-question threads get locked". Well, maybe i'm an idiot but i still don't understand why.. i just opened a topic that after all might be interesting for arts lovers like me, hoping someone could help me. So what's wrong with what i did?

Your thread was started to answer a question that was not built around discussion, but more about solving a problem (i.e. finding full-body renders of characters). Obviously, these are easily found on Google, which Tofma noted, and even linked you to an example. The question you had was resolved there and so the thread was locked.

1- Are you telling me i can't open a thread to ask help? And i repeat, that topic could become interesting to discuss about rare and unreleased arts.
2- For the last time: those aren't arts easily to find on web. I specified which arts are, i also linked the exact point of video where you can see them, here they are.

So?

Well that's a rather negative interpretation but I suppose it's accurate. The problem is that threads designed to solve one problem will end quickly. If we allowed those to be posted, it'd just a lot of clutter in the end, tbh. You can, however, post in existing threads to ask help. We have plenty of Q&A threads, albeit not in the General Gaming section iirc. For example, Eternal Blaze made this thread a while ago. It's obviously for help, but it stays open because it ongoing problems, and prevents future one-question threads from being opened and cluttering things. A Q&A thread can easily be opened for General Gaming questions if needed though.

For the last time: those aren't arts easily to find on web.
Well that's because the Guy and Adon art isn't available anywhere but that intro, as Tofma informed you in his post.

"Most of them do exists. And you can find them in less than a minute by using google. Adon and Guy however were just slightly expanded for the intro."

So there you go. The rest are easily found.

If a general Q&A thrad had existed i'd use it but it doesn't exist, so i started a new topic thinking to do nothing wrong..

About the arts.. the rest are easily found? And the rest means..? I've been searching for years and i never found those arts. Anyway i realized that open the thread here was a mistake.. i just wanted some help and share my passion for the game arts with others. Bu never mind, lock the topic and do as you wish, i don't care that question anymore.
