Not that. They don't like it because of the drastic gameplay changes made in the game (mainly due to the environment) and how unbalanced it was.

Thank you :D
Yep, especially the Jin fans. They're shocked with the changing fighting style. And I was suprise with the 1+3 button.
Then for a while, I wonder what shall I push to make a Double-Face Kick with Kazuya. I like the stages, though some of them were elevated.
Finally, I think the idea of making T4 is genius. Well, maybe Namco was in rush so that they didn't finish it well.

You're welcome. [thumbsup]

I never realized all the unbalancing issues and how overpowered Jin was, since I was more of a casual Tekken gamer at the time. Seeing some videos now however, I see what all the hubbub was about.

They did the story extremely well. I guess that was the trade-off for the disappointing gameplay. [shrug]

And that's why I made this thread. :D

So, anything specific you wish to talk about with T4's story?

Well, I'm dissapointed 'coz Steve's ending wasn't canon. I would like to see more.

Sorry for neglecting the response for so long. :S

Me, too. Seems we're not alone on this, either.

I understand Steve's T5's ending where the story takes a turn to let him discover his origins, but T6's ending just put him in comic relief. I really hope they go back to elaborating more on T4's ending, because that was a really interesting sub-plot.

Yep, me too.
Anyway, I wonder why the Jack's attacked Honmaru and Heihachi after the Mishimas finished their hard duel?

Mmn, I believe it was the act of G-Corp, but I'm not exactly sure. You're gonna have to go to the Tekken 5 forum for that.

Tekken 4 was a great game, I used to play it a lot but looking back I really do prefer the other Tekkens. The storyline in Tekken 4 was fantastic and It really did help me understand the storyline more. There is no point in me giving ideas for improvement as most of them came in Tekken 5 :P

Sorry for the super-delayed response, man.

I agree with you on all points. T5 may have solved the issues, but T4 had much more depth and mood to it than any other. I'm not saying T5's story was bad, on the contrary, in fact. T4's just made a whole lot more impact to me overall. :)

It was good but not great. I can't really explain why. With Tekken 3 or 2 I could do arcade mode again and again and again and I'm currently doing that with Dead or Alive 2 but it isn't the same with T4.

I liked how it explained the story to you more. With 2 & 3 I didn't fully understand certain stuff till i googled it. I liked that Kazuya was back and there was the 3 way dynamic between the 3 generations of the Mishimas. The Steve-Nina-Lei story was great too (another 3 way thing lol) but he rest of the stories were crap IMO (apart from Christie).

Really? Why don't you elaborate more as to why you don't like it that much?

Yeah, the 3-ways (*snicker*, innuendo.) held some great moments in the story. Some of the individual ones were good, too. Paul's ending, for instance. :)
